Obituary

It is with a heavy heart we say goodbye to Chad.

Chad was born in Lompoc on May 27, 1982. He passed away unexpectedly on July 26, 2023.

Chad was a loving son, grandson, and brother. He loved his family with his whole heart and was a loyal friend. He is survived by his mother and stepfather Tracy and Tom Akins, sister Samantha Akins, Grandmother and Grandfather Joanne and Larry Bowman, Aunts Keri Stevens (Darren), Sheri Heathman (Paul), Uncles Steve Craig and Dale Craig (Heidi) along with many cousins.

Chad graduated from Lompoc High School in 2000, he played on the High School Football team and Track and Field. Chad's true passion in his teen years was rollerblading, hitting every curb and rail in town. After graduating High School, he went to Phoenix Arizona where he earned an associate of Occupational Studies degree in Truck and Industrial Technology at Universal Technical Institute.

Chad spent the last 7 years in Santa Barbara. Chad was employed by Santa Barbara County in the Planning and Development Department and as a Security Guard for Miller Event Management.

Chad was known for his outgoing personality; making friends where ever he went. He considered himself a man of many talents; artist, cook, comedian, and athlete, and was always working on being the best version of himself.

Celebration of Chad's life will be held at a later date, private services will be held at Lompoc Cemetery.

Say not in grief he is no more but, live in thankfulness that he was.
