Charles Craig Myers, 68, of Lompoc died on Thursday, October 27.

He was born in York, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1942 and was raised by his parents Charles Andrew Myers and Marian Bernice Diehl Myers in Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania.

Chuck graduated from Northeastern High School in Manchester, Pennsylvania in 1960. He entered the United States Air Force in 1961 and served for four years at Vandenberg Air Force Base. Chuck married Billie Frances Brong in 1965. Chuck continued his education at University of LaVerne and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in 1972. They lived in Lompoc and in 1978 they moved to the home they built on Sunnybank Road in Santa Barbara County.

As a civilian, Chuck worked at Vandenberg Air Force Base for 35 years for ITT-Federal Electric Corporation and later as a consultant for InDyne, Inc. He retired in 2009 as a Mission Control Supervisor, Operations Coordinator.

Chuck was a member of the Lompoc Elks Lodge #2274. He enjoyed classic cars, NASCAR, the beach, his family, friends and animals. He was a patriot and loved his country.

Chuck is survived by Billie, his wife of 46 years. He also is survived by his three children, Stacey Myers Garrett of Palos Verdes, California, Charles Myers and Chad Myers, both of Lompoc, California. He also is survived by his sister Debra Shaffer and brothers Ronald and Barry Griffin, all of York, Pennsylvania, eight grandchildren and 20 nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at Queen of Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 3. The family will hold a private graveside burial service at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
