Vigil services for Charles J. Escovedo, 74, of Lompoc, will be 5 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2009 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Rev. Msgr. John Fitzgerald of Queen of Angels Catholic Church presiding. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Escovedo was born July 11, 1935 in Santa Maria, California to Vincent and Luisa Escobedo. He was a lifelong resident of Lompoc, and graduated from Lompoc High School with the class of 1953. Charles worked as a welder and machinist for 35 years before retiring.
He died Friday, December 11, 2009 at his home.
Survivors (spouses) include his wife Emma Escovedo of Lompoc; sons, Andrew (Darcy) Escovedo of Palo Alto, Calif. and Ernest (Lilianne) of Windsor, Calif.; sister, Rita Donlea of Lompoc; brothers, Arthur Escovedo of Claremont, Calif. and David Escobedo of Kernville, Calif; and grandchildren, Cary, Nicolas, Kyle, Camille, and Brent. Brothers, Rudolph Escovedo and James Escobedo, preceded him in death.
