Obituary

Charles Fredrick Brickey (Butch) was born November 28, 1960 in St. Petersburg, Florida. He left to be with his heavenly Father on February 21, 2015 at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, surrounded by his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife Terri Brickey; Son Brandon Brickey; daughters Elizabeth and Krysani; sister Kim Traylor Whalen (Tim); Tracy Traylor Bedrosian (Lanny); three grandsons Brandon, Willie, Ayden; one granddaughter Arriah; Nephews Tim and Travis Tolbert, Jamie and Devin Whalen, Ritchie Joey Lundy; Nieces Dallas, Jena, Riana, Ava, Lela.; mother in law Joyce Whitted; brother in law Billy Whitted and his extended family in Alabama.

He is now back in the arms of His maker with his grandparents Bill and Elsie Whiteley, his parents Guilis and Glenys Traylor and William Whitted.

Butch was proud to be a soldier of the United States Army. Sgt Brickey served with the 16th Engineering Battalion, First Armor Div, and Company E. He did his basic training at AIT in Fort Lennordwood, MO (or as he would say, "Fort Lost in the Woods"). He was a 12 Charlie (Combat Engineer) Bridgeman with many achievements in the Army. Some to include NCO Academy, Drill Sargent School, and many awards, certificates and ribbons. He traveled with the Army to many states and countries. After ending his last overseas tour in Germany, he came to the states and began a new life in Aerospace. He worked with some of the finest Engineers with Northrup Grumman Astro Aerospace, Alliant Tech System, General Dynamic and Lockheed /Martin/NASA and others.
He worked with Astronauts such as Tracy E. Caldwell and Michael Anderson.

He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.

Services will be held Saturday, February 28 at 12 noon at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel with visitation scheduled from
11-12 at the Mortuary Chapel.
