Services for Charles Lee Myers, 80, of Lompoc will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Charles was born August 11, 1932 in Fresno, California to Cecil and Nellie Myers. Charles served in the United States Air Force for 23 years and retired as a Master Sergeant. After his air force career, he worked as a mail carrier and retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years.
Charles was a well-read man. He was an avid reader and biblically fluent with scripture and bible stories. One of his favorite pastimes was basketball and he especially like the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team.
He died Monday October 8, 2012 at his home.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Leota Myers of Vandenberg Village; sons, Randy Myers and Bruce Myers both of Lompoc; and sister Barbara Carlson of Lompoc. He was preceded in death by his parents and son Charles Myers in 1997.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the mortuary.
