Vigil services for Charmayne J. Taylor, 68, of Lompoc will be 6 pm Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 am Friday at La Purisma Catholic Church with Celebrant Rev. Tom Cook. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
Charmayne was born October 7, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Ceola Sozin. She had fond memories growing up and going to school in Fox Lake, IL. Living along a Lake, she enjoyed ice-skating in the winter, swimming and boating in the summer. The 1950's were a special decade for her. She loved the music and dancing and was a big fan of Elvis. After High School, she went to Beauty College and started her hairstyling career at the age of 20 and continuing well into her 60's. For several years, she was member of the Eagles Auxiliary, and at one time she served as president. In the 1990's, she enjoyed the booming country dancing fad. She loved getting out, socializing, and pitching in to help others.
She died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at her home.
She is survived by her son Dr. Edmund A. Geswein, D.C. of Lompoc, lifelong friend Mary Kennedy, numerous other local friends and family from around the country.
She was preceded in death by her mother Ceola Milanowski, father John Sozin, stepfather Edmund E. Milanowski, husband Norman Taylor, long time friend Bradley L. Bellamy and numerous other friends and family.
Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 pm Thursday at the mortuary.
