Memorial services for Cheryl J. Hazen, 59, of Lompoc, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Rev. Bill Denton of the First Christian Church officiating.
Cheryl was born Dec. 9, 1947 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Donald and Geneva Chinberg Willis. She was raised and educated in Iowa and graduated from William Penn College in Oskaloosa with a bachelor's degree. Her family moved from Boone, Iowa to Lompoc in1980. She taught and substituted for Lompoc elementary schools and various school districts until 1983. Cheryl attended the First Christian Church and the Nazarene Church in Lompoc.
She died Sunday, December 17, 2006 at the Convalescent Care Center.
Survivors include her husband of 32 years, Brent Hazen; father, Donald Willis; son, Blake and his wife, Jennifer, all of Lompoc; and brother, Jeffrey Wayne Willis of Illinois. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1986 and son, John Bryon in 1997.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to VIVA, P.O. Box 896, Lompoc 93438 or the American Cancer Society, 604 East Ocean Ave., Lompoc.
