Cheryl "Cherie" Ann Humphreys
Beloved daughter, sister, and aunt Cheryl Ann Humphreys of Lompoc died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 8, 2010, at the young age of 52.
Cheryl was born March 2, 1958 at Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas to Roy A. and Joan S. Smith. She is survived by her father and mother of Lompoc, her sister and brother-in-law Billy Jr. and Lorrie M. Ward of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her brother Robby A. Smith of Salt Lake City, Utah; and sister and brother-in-law John A. and Kathie L. Kenny of Lompoc. Nine special nephews survive Cheryl.
Cheryl was a faithful employee to American Pacific Plywood (Valley Hardwoods) for many years; proceeded by many years at Lompoc Lumber. She was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and the Lompoc American Legion. Cheryl was always available to help-out with Lompoc Flower Festival and community events. There wasn't anything Cheryl wouldn't do for anyone! Her loyal friendship to many will be truly missed. We will remember her each time a butterfly flutters past; perhaps we'll be lucky enough to have "one" stop and hover.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. Arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
