A Rosary and vigil services will be held for Chin Hui "Jeanie" Segura at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday May, 3, 2018 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2018.
A native of South Korea, Chin Hui Song was born on October 10, 1935. She attended and graduated from the University of Tokyo and was fluent in speaking as well as writing the English, Korean, and Japanese languages. Chin "Jeanie" Song and Estevan "Steve" Segura were married in South Korea in 1958 during Mr. Segura's military tour of duty with the United States Army. Upon their return to the United States, Mr. and Mrs. Segura lived in San Acacio, Colorado briefly before moving to Lompoc in 1963. Mrs. Segura was a wonderful homemaker and was employed as a senior home health aide. An avid music fan, Jeanie enjoyed listening and dancing to jazz and swing music and was well-known as an excellent cook and a generous host.
Jeanie lived her life in deep faith and was reunited with our savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2018.
She is survived by a daughter, Susan; a son, Steve (Sandra Bernal); five grandchildren, Nicholas (Ana Rizo-Centino), Matthew, Stephanie, Sean, Spencer; and one great-grandchild, Gloria. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother, a sister, a daughter, a son and a great granddaughter.
