A memorial service for Christine Taussig, 79, of Lompoc, will be 4 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2007 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Rev. David Horning of the First United Methodist Church officiating.

Christine was born Nov. 18, 1927 in West Germany to Christine and Kaspar Erl. She married Robert Taussig in 1954. A military wife, Christine traveled extensively from base to base throughout the United States and Europe. As a world traveler, Christine knew of no strangers and always had a smile and kind words for everyone she met. She had a unique ability to instantly make a home where ever the family landed. Her exploration of each new state and country became fun and exciting for the family.

She died Thursday, February 8, 2007 in Bakersfield after a long and difficult illness.

Survivors include her husband, Robert and daughters, Sylvia Taussig of Lompoc and Gloria Ontiveros (Timothy) of Bakersfield.
