Christopher Robert Martinez was born July 20, 1982 in Lompoc, California. He passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 28, at Marian Medical Center in Santa Maria, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
He is survived by his loving family - mother, Peggi Arnold; sister, Francine Martinez; step father, Sonny Arnold; step siblings, Scott (Tina) Arnold; and Kelley (Clint) Everling; grandparents, Virginia & Tony Bettencourt , and Tony Machado Sr.; aunts, Ardeane (Rodney) Eckert; Vicki (Tom) Johnson; and uncle Tony (Marilyn) Machado Jr.; godparents Mike & Patricia Elszy; numerous great aunts, uncles, and cousins, loving friends far and wide and his beloved Kitty Kitty. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Martinez; and grandparents, Max & Frances Martinez.
Christopher attended La Purisima Catholic School and graduated from Lompoc High School in 2000. One of his greatest achievements in high school was lettering in varsity golf during his freshman year. He also received several awards while participating in tri-county Junior Golf tournaments. He attended Allan Hancock College and the College of the Desert. Christopher most recently worked at Melville Winery. In the winter months, his love of golf drew him to the Palm Desert area where he worked and played for the last seven years.
A viewing for Christopher will be from 4-6 pm on Sunday, June 19 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary, 123 North A Street in Lompoc followed by rosary/vigil at 7p.m. at La Purisima Catholic Church, 213 West Olive Avenue, Lompoc. A funeral mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, June 20 at the church with Rev. Tom Cook presiding. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Although his time with us was not nearly long enough we will always remember his boisterous personality and infectious laugh.
