Cindy Ann McPeek Cowel, 52, of Lompoc passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at her home.

Cindy was born January 31, 1960 in Santa Barbara. She lived in the Los Angeles area for a short time, and moved to Lompoc at an early age where she remained for the rest of her life. She attended El Camino and Hapgood Elementary Schools, Lompoc Valley School, and graduated from Lompoc High School. She was employed for many years as a waitress at local restaurants.

Despite an ongoing battle with addiction, she will be remembered for her sense of humor, her keen wit, and her laughter. She enjoyed improve drama, writing, music, reading, the beach, bible classes, fun-filled days at San Marcos Baptist Camp in her youth, and making friends in any situation.

Cindy is survived by her daughter Stacey McPeek, sons Samuel and Joseph Cowell, grandson Lucas Ybarra, mother Jean McPeek, and ex-husband Larry Cowell, all of Lompoc; brother Mitch McPeek of Hanalei, Hawaii and sister Jill McPeek of Nipomo, Calif; father and half brother Keith and Mike McPeek of Lancaster, Calif.; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Her dear friends, Renee Feliz and Beth Gallagher were always like sisters to her.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following at the North Avenue Baptist Church, 1523 West North Avenue in Lompoc.
