Dr. Cirilo Lagmay “Cy” Adan, Jr. was born June 30, 1934, in Junction City, Kansas. He did his dental schooling at the University of the Philippines. He was drafted into the United States Navy in 1957 and served for four years. After the Navy, he attended and graduated from Marquette University in the School of Dentistry, Prosthodontics. He also attended Texas University and attained a Master of Science. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he served for 27 years.

He met the love of his life, Josefina, at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. They had two children, Mark and Ronald. After various assignments from the military, his family made their home in Lompoc, California, at nearby Vandenberg Air Force Base, which would be his final assignment. After retirement from the Air Force, he continued his dentistry through various contract jobs.

He was a passionate lover of the performing arts, such as classical music, opera, and ballet. He also enjoyed watching old western movies. Other hobbies included crossword puzzles, radio-controlled models, general all-around tinkering, and fixing things. Cirilo and Josefina loved to travel and visited various countries.

Cirilo was predeceased by Josefina. He is survived by his sister, two sons, Mark and Ronald, and two grandchildren, Hugo and Cole. Cirilo passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.

Per Cirilo’s wishes, no memorial or funeral services will be held. A small private viewing will be for family only. To honor his memory, I invite you to celebrate Cirilo’s memory in your own way.
