Cirilo was born and raised in Clayton, New Mexico on March 17, 1929. He left the family farm at the ripe old age of 17 to join the United States Army to serve and fight in the Korean War. He retired from the USAF, Vandenberg AFB, Ca. in 1967 and settled in Lompoc. He continued to work at Vandenberg Air Force Base even after his retirement as a Civil Service Contractor.
He was an avid sports fan and a history buff. Loved to talk about fighter planes and helicopters with his grandson Zach. Kept up on current affairs and politics reading the newspaper from front to back and never missed doing the TV Guide crossword puzzle. He was an avid dog lover and brought home strays all the time. His hobbies included fixing and restoring old cars and talking to anyone who would listen about any and all of the things he admired so much.
He was a kind and generous man, a philanthropist of a sort giving to charities he believed in. The ASPCA, March of Dimes and St. Jude just to name a few. Those who knew him remember his smile. He was a quiet and stoic man and brave to the end.
A private ceremony will be held at a later date out of state. His children will have a local Celebration of Life for family and friends at a date to be announced. In lieu of flowers we ask that you please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
