CLARITA M. GUNN
1959-2008

Clarita "Claire" Mamaril Gunn was born into this world on January 15, 1959 in Naguilian, La Union, Philippines, and after battling Cancer for over 16 years, Our Lord God granted her eternal rest and everlasting peace on May 4, 2008.

In her lifetime she gave of herself unconditionally and selflessly to everything she set her mind to do. She served the world as a beautiful, loving and strong wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She served society as a hardworking Registered Nurse and Director of Nursing, as well as the President of different organizations around California including University of Baguio Alumni Association, NADONA, Lompoc Filipino American Club, and as a member of the American Cancer Society.

In her earlier years she showed her amazing intelligence and scholar in the Philippines, as well as having served her country as a U.S. Army Nurse. Her family and friends enjoyed and will forever remember her beautiful smile, her zest for life, her hard working and fighting spirit, her unconditional love and her unparalleled strength and tenacity. She served as a child of God by attending the Queen of Angels Church in Lompoc, and never hesitated to pray to Him and ask for his help, mercy, and love.

Her Love, life, and legacy will always be carried on and remembered by her loved ones and by all those who her spirit was able to touch. She is survived by her forever loving and grateful husband Gerry, her sons Scott, Sean, and Sherwin, her nephew and adopted son John, her parents Luz and Noly Mamaril of Lompoc, as well as her brothers Gil and Edgar Mamaril, and her sisters Ofelia Sales, Corazon Gamboa , and Joan Guerrero of the Philippines.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday May 10, 2008 at Queen of Angels Church, 3495 Rucker Road, in Lompoc followed by the service and burial at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will be held in her honor at the Queen of Angels Parish Hall following the services.
