Maria Concepcion "Concha" Wichern was born in Rancho Nuevo, Durango Mexico on December 22, 1939. Mom passed away peacefully at home on December 3, 2022.
Mom loved reading and studying the word of God and sharing it with others. She enjoyed going to the nursery and gardening. She liked relaxing with a cup of coffee with something sweet. Mom loved spending time with her family and talking on the phone daily and hanging out with her sisters, always laughing, telling stories, and sharing memories.
She is survived by her three daughters, Reina (Juve) Solorio of Lompoc, Lilian (Mike) Madden of Concord Ca, Lisa (Richard) Campbell of Lompoc, and son, Jerry (Sonja) Wichern Jr also of Lompoc. She had eight beautiful grandchildren, Gabrielle, Reina, Adam, Lily, Andrea, Jerry, Willem, and Jason. Two great-grandchildren, Lee, and Alina. She is also survived by her five brothers, Manuel Barraza, Alfredo Barraza, Miguel Barraza, Jesus Barraza, and Federico Barraza all of Jimenez, Mexico. Four sisters, Ofelia (James) McKee of Lompoc, Hortencia Barraza-Torres, Martha Barraza, and Angela Barraza all of Jimenez, Mexico. Also, many nieces and nephews.
Concha is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Jerry Wichern Sr, Her father and mother, Arturo and Angela Barraza, Brother, Arturo Barraza, infant/toddler sisters, Consuelo, Socorro, Romelia, Abdulia, and Cuca. Her infant daughter, Michelle, and Infant granddaughter, Sara.
Mom will be dearly missed but we can rest assured that she is with our heavenly Father, and we will see her and dad again soon!
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2022, from 5 pm-8 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 1 pm, at Cityview Community Church, 1600 Berkeley Drive, Lompoc, followed by burial at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
