Obituary

Corando "Lou" Lozano, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to meet our Lord on April 4, 2014.  Corando Lozano was a long time resident of Lompoc, California, settling on the Central Coast after transferring here by the Air Force in 1967.  Corando Lozano's career in the United States Air force took him to many countries, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Alaska and Germany before retiring here as a Senior Master Sergeant after serving his country for 28 years.

After his retirement Corando went to work for Northrop Aircraft Corp (Grumman) working in Saudi Arabia and Pico Rivera California.

Corando's love of baseball and working with and mentoring young ball players was well known overseas and in the US.  He coached many little league teams including coaching the first European Little League team from Saudi Arabia to make it to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania in 1983.  He was also known as "Coach Lozano" to the teams he coached here in the Central Coast.  He was a great supporter of Cabrillo's Baseball and Softball programs and rarely missed any games his grandsons or granddaughters played.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Melba Serna Lozano who he met in Alice, Texas, at a pharmacy three years prior to their marriage.

He is also survived by his brother Dionicio Lozano, sisters Benita Lopez, Gloria Lozano and Consuelo Gutiérrez, his children Wanda Robinson, Corando (Shelly) Lozano, Linda (Tom) DeTemple, Bobby (Debbie) Lozano and Annette (Daryl) Gregory, his grandchildren Trinity(Matt) Lawrence, Michael (Jessica) Robinson, Corando (Heather) Lozano, Steven( Sofia) Lozano, Alex Robinson, Leslie ( Matt) Gainer, Brian, Brett, Baylee, Brooklynn, Blake Gregory, Brittany (Lucas) Signorelli, Tova Boyd and finance Matt, Amanda and Kady DeTemple, Landon Lozano, Ellior (Donny) Renaud and Quinn Richards, his great grandchildren Evan, Anthony, Alexia Robinson, Piper and Penelope Lawrence, Madison Robinson , MJ Gainer, Kaya, Drake, and Sage Renaud, and numerous nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Estafanita Lozano, granddaughter baby Robinson, and numerous brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

The visitation will be Thursday, April 10, from 4 to 8 pm with the evening vigil at 7 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.  Father Lawrence Santos will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Friday, April 11, at 10 am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in his honor to Cabrillo Varsity Baseball Program.
