IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Daniel "Danny"
Rojas
July 5, 1952 – August 21, 2024
Daniel "Danny" Rojas, 72, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at Serenity House in Santa Barbara, on August 21st, 2024. Danny was born July 5th, 1952, to Rudy and Connie Rojas, and spent almost his entire life in Lompoc. He graduated from Lompoc High in 1970. As a child he loved painting model cars, and as a teenager he ran a home-based car painting business. He was very artistic and produced works of art with beautiful detailing for relatives and friends.
Danny liked to brag to his friends that his mom made the best tacos. And each of his friends that came over could eat at least 6 apiece!
Danny held various positions in his life where he could paint, including Beattie Ford, Piper Aircraft, and City of Lompoc. He was employed by Chumash Casino for many years until he retired to take care of his mother Connie toward the end of her life. He was a devoted caregiver who made his mother very happy seeing him every day, and he was with her as she took her last breath in August 2023. No one knew as he took care of Connie, he was also terminally ill.
Danny will be remembered as a quiet, gentle soul who was very caring, and faithful and trustworthy to all his loved ones. He gave of himself to everyone in need. And he adored children. When his niece and nephew were born, he would visit them after work, and would hold them for hours as they napped. He would play "airplane" with them. A favorite memory of Uncle Danny we will always cherish is watching him eat posole with his niece on his lap and teaching her how to scoop up posole with a tortilla.
Danny was a deeply, religious man, with faith in God and a belief that he will be reunited with loved ones.
Danny loved music, and learned guitar as a teen, and played along with the music of Santana, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, and any group in which he could make his bedroom walls vibrate. He took up guitar after retirement, as was self-taught through YouTube.
He was preceded in death by his father Rudolph, and mother Connie. He is survived by his brother Richard, sister Virginia, nephew Diego and niece Adriana Rojas, all of Lompoc.
There will be a visitation from 6-8 pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with rosary. Inurnment will follow on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 11 am at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, with Father Jose Maria Ortiz officiating.
Please dress casually, no black, and wear music/concert t-shirts if possible.
