It has been said "Find a man who takes pride in himself and gives freely to others, who has the love of his family and the respect of his friends...and you will have found a happy man." Daniel R. Walton was a happy man who lived a short, but full life. Danny was born in Lompoc, California on February 2, 1967, and was taken away from us too soon due to complications from a brain tumor on October 5, 2012.
Danny was born at Lompoc Hospital, attended local schools and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1985. He was baptized, had his First Communion and Confirmation at La Purisima Church. He later attended DeVry in Covina, California and Johnson Valley Community College. He later moved to Seattle, Washington and began work at Boeing. Danny was employed for about 17 years with Boeing as an aircraft material handler in the Facilities/Transportation division. He also worked at Best Buy and UPS while living in Washington. He enjoyed his car shows and was a co-founder of the Boulevard Car Club in Seattle, Washington. He moved back to Lompoc in 2010, to care for his father. He was last employed with Best Buy at both Santa Maria and Goleta locations.
Danny was a very friendly man who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone and without hesitation, would help out with a big, warm smile on his face. There were many people whom his path crossed and all instantly became friends with Danny. We will all miss him, his laugh and big smile.
He is survived by his parents, Linda Vistante and William "Speed" Walton, his sister Dina Walton and two daughters, Melissa Walton and Madeline "Maddy" Walton, of Washintgon. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins living in Washington, Illinois and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Epifanio "Billy" Vistante and Joy Carlon.
Visitation at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary in Lompoc will be on Wednesday, October 17th, from 4-7 pm with the rosary at 6pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 18th, at 10am at La Purisima Catholic Church in Lompoc, with burial at Lompoc Cemetery on Friday, October 19th at 10 am.
