Darla Jean Baney, age 51, died Saturday, June 27, 2009.
Darla was born November 3, 1957 to Jerry and Lois Whelchel in Long Beach, California.
She was a special services employee with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
Her parents, Jerry and Lois Whelchel, a daughter, Ashley J. Baney and a brother, Jerry D. Whelchel, precede Darla in death. Survivors include her husband, James J. Baney of Derby, Kansas; son, James G. Baney of Haysville, Kansas; daughters, Julia Baney of Wichita and Jennifer Baney of Derby; and four grandchildren, Kayden, Andrew, Lacey and Samuel.
Father Michael Cunningham will officiate at the graveside funeral service on Monday, July 6, at 11am at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the cancer charity of choice. Local arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
