Obituary

Darlene was born September 25, 1938, in Red Lodge, Montana and passed away on March 6, 2011, in Lompoc.

She moved to Lompoc in 1946, where she attended local schools graduating from Lompoc High School in 1956. While at Lompoc High she was a song leader, president of the Future Homemakers of America and Student Body President her senior year. She was also a member of the Lompoc Flower Festival queen's court in 1956.

While attending UCSB she met the love of her life, Joseph Robert "Bobby" Feeley. They were married in July of 1957, and together they made a home and raised five children.

She worked for many years at Moore's Department Store where she was the buyer and manager of the children's department.

She was a very loving and caring person who opened her heart and her home to anyone in need, unconditionally. She and Bob enjoyed Sunday driving throughout the back roads of the Central Coast. She also enjoyed camping, reading and most of all her family. She was legendary for her fried "honky tacos" sometimes making five to six dozen for anyone who showed up. She was also known for her Christmas Eve celebrations where any and all were welcome and no one left empty handed.

She is survived by her four children, Erin (Jeff) Holt, Paul Michael Feeley, Colleen (Keith) Leslie and Peter Kevin Feeley, her six grandchildren Von, Max, and Sam Holt, Kevin Feeley, Christine Feeley, Garrett Padgett and Ashley Leslie and her great grandson JoJo. She also leaves behind her sister Marian Puppe, her very special niece Kerri White and her beloved caregiver Ronda Graves. She will be missed by her three pets, Craig, Corky and Birdie.

She joins in heaven her beloved husband and her daughter Nell Christine.

A special thank you goes to her second family, the caring nurses and staff of the Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center and Dr. Gilbert Andersen.

The visitation will be on Thursday, March 10, from 4-7pm with the recitation of the rosary at 5pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Monsignor John Fitzgerald will celebrate the mass of Christian burial on Friday, March 11, at 10am at Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
