Darlene Greathouse, 78 of Lompoc, passed away on October 1, 2023, at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara.  She was in the presence of her husband and daughter.

Darlene was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 27, 1945.  She was the daughter of Robert Lewis Christensen and Mary Louise Kramer. She was preceded in death by both her parents, as well as her sisters Shirley Walker and Carolyn Wilbur. Darlene moved to Lompoc in 1955 and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1963.  Her career in finance had her wearing many different hats.  She worked for Crocker Bank, Lockheed Martin, Celite, and Honda Motors.  She spent many years traveling with her husband of 37 years, Kenneth Greathouse of Lompoc.  She is survived by her husband, daughter Sena Hensley, stepson Todd Greathouse (Jennifer), sister Jane Lapointe (Charles), and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Darlene was a good friend.  Her open, warm personality made her easy to talk to, fun to laugh with, and a person to confide in. If you didn't want the truth, you didn't ask Darlene.  She will be missed by so many.

A memorial service will be on December 2, 2023, at 10:30am at Lompoc Cemetery with a reception following at The Lompoc Elks' Lodge.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
