David A. Eden, longtime resident of Lompoc, died Saturday, August 21, 2010, at the age of 51.
David was born February 27, 1959, in Amarillo, Texas to Billy and Gloria Eden. At an early age, his family moved to Lompoc where he was raised and attended local schools. He was a wrestler and played high school football at Cabrillo High School and graduated with the class of 1977.
David was a Hot Shot crew leader for Santa Barbara County before taking a full-time job with the County Fire Department as a firefighter. He retired after 27 years of service as an engineer. David used his knowledge of computers to make maps of fires for the department.
David was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. He loved spending time outdoors with his family.
David is survived by his wife of 21 years Lorie Eden of Lompoc, his daughter Tricia and son Alex both of Lompoc, his brothers Mike Eden and Paul Eden both of Lompoc, his sister Mary Eden of Lompoc, his aunt Ramona Riebe of Lompoc, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The memorial gathering in David's honor will be on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at 1pm in Los Alamos Park followed by a barbeque. Pastor John Reil of Peace Lutheran Church will officiate. The cremation will be followed by private inurnment. The arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
