David Michael Kendrick, 72, beloved husband and father passed away peacefully August 21, 2007 at the Lompoc Convalescent Care Center.
David was born October 18, 1934 in Los Angeles to Bufford Brown and Gerda Sophie Kendrick. In 1951, David enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from the Air Force on July 1, 1974 as a Senior Master Sergeant from Petersen Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He returned to Santa Barbara working on the ranch for his stepfather, P.A. Andersen and his mother Gerda.
In 1975, he went to work for Applied Magnetics. In 1979 he went to work for SBRC, eventually retiring as a Manufacturing Manager in 1991. In March of 1992 he partnered with Jack Bratcher and opened JD's Sports Cards in Lompoc.
David is survived by his wife Sharon and their son Paul Kendrick of Camarillo. He is also survived by his daughter Valerie Kendrick of Centennial, Colorado; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Carol Kendrick and their daughter Rachel of Colorado Springs; granddaughter Katie Nazarenus, her husband Jason, and their children Makenzy and Andrew of Henderson, Colorado; brother Roger Kendrick, and niece Laurie Coxworth and her husband Randall of San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Brown Lee Kendrick and his son Michael Lee Kendrick.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20th at 1:00 pm at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 909 North LaCumbre Road, Santa Barbara.
Memorials may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church, 1000 West Ocean Avenue, Lompoc, Trinity Lutheran Church or the American Heart Association.
