DAVID J. MUNOZ
March 27, 1950 – February 18, 2010
David Munoz was born on March 27, 1950, in Santa Barbara, CA, and was raised in Isla Vista. He was the son of the late Patricio and Nellie Munoz.
He graduated from Dos Pueblos High School in 1969. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served in the Viet Nam War. He was honorably discharged in 1972 due to an illness.
David did upholstery. He had his own business for 20 years. He came to live in Lompoc with his sister in 2000. David loved exotic birds, shopping for antiques, and plants. He will be deeply missed by his family.
David is survived by his brothers, Joe (Lena) Munoz, Robert (Jan) Munoz, Ray Munoz, Peter Munoz, Lupe (Barbara) Munoz, Rudy (Gina) Munoz, Louie (Nilah) Munoz; his sisters, Cruz (Horst) Bauer, Linda Rogers, Patricia (Bob) Leggett, Nettie (John) Clark, Logie Putnam, and Mary (Lucky) Vega; and numerous nieces and nephews, all who enjoyed spending time with him. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret, and brother John.
A viewing will be held at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, from 4 to 8 PM, and a vigil will be performed at 7 PM. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 25 2010, at 10 AM at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, with military honors being presented by the United States Army.
