David Allen Plank of Lompoc passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 75.

David was born to Harry and Clarica Plank in Los Angeles, California on August 22, 1949.  He was raised and educated in Los Angeles completing his education with an associate's degree.

David served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974, during the Vietnam War on the SS Basilone.  He was employed as a Senior Electronics Technician at Vandenberg Space Force Base.

David relocated to Lompoc in 1977.  He was a member of the Lompoc Moose Lodge, the Lompoc Valley Model Railroad & Historical Society, and Place of Grace Christian Church in Lompoc.  He and his wife Elizabeth were active in the Boy Scouts of America.  He enjoyed hiking, reading, murder mysteries, and Antiques Roadshow.

David is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elizabeth; his sons and daughters-in-law Christopher and Mary Plank, and Daniel and Amber Plank, all of Lompoc; his daughter-in-law Elena Eckhart; grandchildren Christian and Bethony Smith, Ethan McGuirt, and Brianna Plank.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Ann Elizabeth.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 12:30 pm, at Place of Grace 816 North C Steet in Lompoc.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to KLOVE Radio, or the Santa Barbara County Animal Services in his name.
