David R. Shriver, age 76, died Saturday, February 19, of complications of surgery.

Dave will be remembered for his quick wit, his exceptional mechanical skills, his warm relationships with friends and his devotion to his family.

He was educated at Loudonville (Ohio) High School and Kent State University and served in the Navy Seabees. With his aptitude for and fascination with hands-on activities, he was employed by Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin for 22 years on the Peacekeeper and Titan programs at Vandenberg Air Force Base.

He is survived by Mary Jo, his wife of 51 years, his son Steven and daughter-in-law Debbie of Santa Maria, and his daughter Susan of Lompoc. His surviving siblings are Marilyn Hodge of Shreve, Ohio, Joe Shearer of Ashland, Ohio, and Michael Shriver of Carmichael, California.

There will be a remembrance reception on Saturday, February 26, at 12 noon in the Jalama Room located in the Embassy Suites Hotel in Lompoc.
