David Lara Terrones

Born: 03/04/1974 – Died: 08/26/2018

David passed away Sunday morning, August 26, 2018

David is survived by his son Nico, his mother Elsie Cortez, his stepfather Virgil Cortez Sr., his brothers Richie, Michael, and Virgil Cortez II, his sister-in-law Yoli Cortez, his grandmother Rose Lara, his uncles Dale, Gabe, Joe and Porfie, his aunts Toni, Judy and Nancy, his nieces Brianna and Lovey, his nephews Zach, Virgil Cortez III, Cooper, Vincent, Ruben, Hunter, Grant, Diego, and Luke, and his numerous cousins he grew up with.  He had close personal relationships with each one.

"Bubba"

Throughout his Life, David worked various jobs.  Picking up on painting and landscaping were two skills David was able to utilize his attention to detail, always leaving his customer satisfied and his work speaking for itself.  He was naturally talented and was able to do ANYTHING he set his mind to do.

David was the baby of the bunch, so he had to learn early on how to be tough and not only take some butt whoopings from his brothers and cousins but start giving them back on occasion!

While playing youth sports, it was clear that "Bubba" had the athletic ability to leave you EMBARRASSED in any competition if you weren't on his team. No matter how big or small, older and younger than him, he wouldn't hold back. He gave you everything he had out there and whether you were playing a pickup basketball game for fun or for 20 bucks he was going to give you a "run for your money," drenched in sweat the whole time! It was this type of competitive nature and the individual bond he built with you, whoever you were to him, that motivated you to give everything you had along side him out there, especially because if you lost you were going to hear it from him!

Bubba was always larger than life, with an even larger heart. His family and friends meant everything in the world to him, and he meant everything in the world to us. He made it a point to have his nieces, nephews, and relatives with him whenever he could, making it clear to each and everyone that his door was ALWAYS open to you. He didn't have to tell you he loved your company - he showed you. He always went above and beyond to show you a great time when you were with him. Whether he called you up to let you know that he had just got a ping pong table, or if he wanted to play cards, you knew you were in for a good time - just DON'T bring ALL your money; you might leave empty handed!

David was a proud man, and was an even prouder to be a father. The moment he knew he was going to have a son, he couldn't help but let everyone know how excited he was to teach him sports and how tough Nico was going to be! He was thrilled to contribute to this ever-growing TERRONES Family Tree. His roots were deeply set in this family, and he set Nico's roots deep in this family, with the help of Nico's Mother Mandy, by allowing Nico to see his cousins on a regular basis and understanding that they are all each other's support system and by allowing him to have an active part in both sides of his families' lives.

David was THE life of the party, and he was someone that everyone gravitated to. Boisterous and flamboyant, full of generosity, he was somebody we appreciated having around while we had him and who we all wanted to be a little more like at times. Bubba was so many things to US, so it is with a great sadness that we say good bye to OUR beloved father, son, brother, cousin, uncle, nephew, grandson, friend, and LOVED ONE.

AS A BELIEVER THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS HIS SAVIOR, MAY HE REST IN PEACE IN HEAVEN FOREVER AND EVER IN THE GRACE AND GLORY OF GOD, KNOWING HE IS WITH HIS LOVED ONES AND FRIENDS THAT PRECEDED HIM IN HIS DEATH AND THAT WE SHALL TOO ALL BE REUNITED AGAIN.

We are confident, yes, well pleased rather, to be present with the Lord (II Corinthians 5:8)

David is preceded in death by his beloved brother Gibby, father Richard, nephew Mikey, cousin Alexis, cousin Gina Villalobos, Tio Freddie, Grandpa Al, Grandma and Grandpa Terrones, his Uncle Barney, Uncle Fernando, Uncle Luciano and his aunts Rosemary Razo and Tina Rains.
