Dean C. Anderson was born May 11, 1923, to Bernard and Isabel Anderson of Phillips, Wisconsin. After completing high school he served in the U. S. Army for three years working in the Allied Base Headquarters during World War II.
At the end of the war he attended the University Of Wisconsin School Of Education where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in education. Later he attended the University of Iowa where he received a Master's degree from the School of Business and Economics.
After holding teaching positions in Wisconsin, Missouri and Arizona, Dean came to Lompoc to teach at Lompoc High where he served as chairman of the business department and later as vocational education coordinator and business education mentor for the Lompoc School District.
Dean was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church serving as treasurer, chairman of the board of deacons and Bible teacher.
He is survived by his wife Jo Ann, his daughter and son-in-law Lee Ann and Russ Barker and four grandchildren, Joseph, Rebekah, Bethany and Daniel. He also leaves two nieces and two nephews of Chicago, Carbondale and Detroit.
There will be a memorial service on Monday, August 20, at Calvary Baptist Church at 2 pm. In place of flowers donations may be made to the Awana program at Calvary Baptist Church, 3355 Constellation Road, Lompoc, CA 93436.
