IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Debra Lea
Berg
August 22, 1954 – July 18, 2018
Debra L. Berg peacefully passed away on July 18, 2018 after valiantly battling a lengthy illness. Although we grieve the loss of our beloved Debbie, we feel comforted by the knowledge that she is no longer in pain.
Debra Berg is survived by her son Cameron Berg; sisters Pamela MacKenzie, Maryse Wasmanski, and Eileen Ogden; brother Don MacKenzie; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Crawford and Corrine MacKenzie.
She was a long-time resident of Lompoc, CA, arriving at the age of 14 in 1969. Debbie graduated class of '72 from Cabrillo High School. She then began her 35+ year career working for Santa Barbara County Superior Court System. During this career she earned respect, admiration, and love of many coworkers whom she encountered.
Sadly, she retired early due to health issues. She often shared anonymous interesting dramatic or funny work stories.
Many youth and young adults considered her their second mother. With humility and expecting nothing in return, she poured her heart into providing support, resources, encouragement, and guidance to these people; changing the direction of their lives.
This world has given up an angel who will surely be missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 3 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel.
