In Loving Memory of Debra Alice Diaz Stearns

June 13,1960 - August 16,2026

Debra Alice Diaz Stearns was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, and a beautiful person who touched the lives of so many people. She dedicated nearly 30 years of her life to the Lompoc Unified School District, where she worked as a bus attendant. She especially loved working with special-needs children and always treated them with love, kindness, patience, and respect. She had a special way of making people feel cared for and accepted.

One of the things Debra loved most was cooking. She loved being in the kitchen, creating something delicious for her family. I can still remember waking up in the morning to loud music playing from the kitchen. I always knew that meant Mom was in there making something good to eat. Those are the simple memories that I will treasure forever.

She also loved her wind chimes and found joy in the little things in life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the movie theater, and making memories with the people she loved. When I was younger, she was always there cheering me on—whether I was playing in marching band or participating in one of my many crazy sports. She was always proud and always there to support me.

Debra’s love, kindness, and caring heart will never be forgotten. She leaves behind countless memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.

She always had a saying that we will carry with us forever:

“This is not goodbye. This is see you later.”

Mom, we will miss you more than words can ever express. Until we meet again, I will carry your love, your memories, and your beautiful spirit with me every day.
