Delia Lord Sudbury was born in Lompoc California on October 26, 1924, to Grace and Charles Davis. She passed away on November 3, 2022. She lived a full and vibrant life during her time with us.

Dee was raised on her family's walnut farm in Lompoc where she lived with her dear sister, Helen-Lu, and graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a BA in art. It was at a Cal Poly dance where she met the love of her life, Jay Royal Sudbury, after World War ll. After a short courtship they married on August 14, 1948 and began a wonderful journey together, beginning their careers as a teaching artist and an engineer, raising a family, and forming numerous enduring ties to the local community.

Dee was always loving, gracious, generous and whip-smart. Nothing got passed her and she often had a very clever thing to say about it as well. She and her husband, Jay, gathered family and friends and held them in a loving embrace. Those she touched saw her as friend, mentor, and confidante, someone with the wisdom of age, the beauty of a tender heart and the joy of living with optimism and gratitude.

Dee is survived by her children, Valeri Kay Davis and Rod Lyle Sudbury, Barbara Bell, her grandson, Sage Martin Sudbury, (Stephanie) and her great granddaughter, Marlow Sierra Sudbury. The family will host a celebration of Dee's life at 10:00am on Saturday, November 12, 2022, Event's Mission Valley, 138 North B St. Lompoc, CA 93436.

In honor of Dee's life, the family asks that you please consider dedicating an act of kindness, an act of charity, a phone call to a loved one or a hug in her memory.

In lieu of flowers it is requested that a donation be made to The Lompoc Valley Art Association.

Our sweet Dee will be dearly missed but, her loving spirit will be forever etched on our hearts.
