Denise Ann (Reed) Carter was taken from those who loved her on July 13, 2024. Denise was born on June 10, 1953, in The Dalles, Oregon to Carl and Virginia (Herst) Reed. Denise moved to Lompoc as a young child and grew up in the Lompoc Community where she attended local grade schools and graduated from Lompoc High School in 1971. In 1976, she relocated to Oklahoma and lived there for 10 years before moving to Arcadia, CA. During her time in Arcadia, she worked at The Derby World Famous Restaurant for many years. In 2021, she moved back to Lompoc to be near her son and his family and was working at Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton. Denise loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed spending time visiting her brother and sister and their families in Oklahoma. Denise had made many friends along the way and cherished all of her friendships. She will be greatly missed by all those who loved her.

Denise is preceded in death by her parents, longtime companion, Ronald Quarton, and sister, Carol Smith, all of whom she missed dearly. She is survived by her son, Clint (Veronica) Porter of Lompoc, granddaughter, Alexis Porter of Lompoc, grandson, Andrew Porter of Lompoc, brother Carl (Nancy) Reed of Pryor, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 27 at 1:00 p.m. at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary Chapel in Lompoc.
