Dolores M. Buford

November 6th 1930 - January 29th 2024

Dolores Buford of Lompoc, CA passed away and left our world on January 29, 2024, at the age of 93 years.

Dee, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 6, 1930.

She lived there until she married her husband Carrol D. Buford on April 18, 1953. His Air Force career took them many places and they settled in Lompoc where he retired in 1980.

Dee and her husband enjoyed traveling to Europe, South America, Hawaii and a cruise to Alaska. Their summer vacation for over 30 years was at the beach in Oxnard, CA where all her family looked forward to joining them every year.

Golf was her favorite activity even into her 90s. She was a member of the Mission Club with her friends.

Dee's many hobbies included sewing, knitting, playing cards and making creative photo albums full of wonderful memories.

Dee is survived by her daughter Karen (Eugene) Long, and son Joseph Buford. She has 3 grandchildren, Shawn (Penny) Long, Jenifer Long, Jesse (Kolby) Long. 7 great-grandchildren, Kyle {Olivia), Austin, Isaak, Elijah, Alannah, Jordan, Kloey and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Jax and Luxanne all of Lompoc. She has 2 brothers Edward Weiss and James (Linda) Weiss.

She is preceded in death by her husband Carrol, and son James. A sister Joan and 2 brothers, Don and Wally.

Dee will be remembered for her style and beauty, kindness and laugh. She was a wonderful wife and mother, a domestic goddess who loved and cared for her family.

She will forever be in our hearts and memories, and we are thankful to God for blessing us with the time we had.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Dolores on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Place of Grace Church 816 North C St Lompoc, California at 10am.
