Donald "Donnie" J. Chambers of Lompoc passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2012, at the age of 78.

Donnie was born July 7, 1934 in Bakersfield, California to Ruby and Omer Chambers. He has been a resident of Lompoc since 1937.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 60 years Carol Ann, his sisters Betty Savage and Linda Murillo, his daughter and son-in-law Carrie and Steve Guerra, daughter Dana Chambers, son and daughter-in-law Craig and Kim Chambers, grandchildren Nate (Ashley), Elizabeth (Billy) and Victoria and a great granddaughter Nora De Priest. He is also survived by grandchildren Dalton, Mackenzee, Phillip, Christine, Macee, Dylan, Curren, Timber, Russ, Brent, Miriam and Sierra, an aunt, many nieces, nephews and cousins including Michael and Johnny McMains and so many friends we can't count. He was preceded in death by his son Mark Chambers.

A celebration of Donnie's life will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012, from 1 to 5 pm at the River Bottom. Please come prepared to share how Donnie touched your life.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to a charity of your choice. Cremation will be followed by inurnment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. The arrangements are in the care of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
