DONALD WALTER SOSA

Donald W. Soso was born April 1, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York. He passed away on July 5, 2013 in Lompoc. He was the only son plus three sisters born to James and Marion Soso.
Donald was an active and busy young man who held numerous jobs from an early age. Donald joined the Air Force where he served as a tech engineer. He traveled and worked overseas and the United States. He received several awards and appreciation letters from his military career. Upon retiring, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from La Verne College in LaVerne, California. He worked civil service and retired as a facility manager.

He loved God and was a blessed member of Grace Temple Baptist Church. Donald was a proud usher at Grace Temple, a member of the male choir, the men's department, and trustee and always willing to help in anyway the church needed him.

Donald enjoyed working with the volunteers for the Lompoc Valley Flower Festival and was honored this year as Grand Marshal. He was and executive board member of the Santa Maria-Lompoc NAACP, a member of Masonic Lodge #109 and American Legion Vandenberg Post 125.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Barbara, two sons, Cedrick Soso (Ricka) of Oakland, Calif. and Kevin Soso of Fairfield, Calif.
