Donald "CatFace" J Thiel fondly known by many as Donnie, passed away April 14, 2021, surrounded by his family in Santa Barbara County California.  Donnie was born in Evansville Indiana on July 9, 1957.  He was a proud graduate of Bosse High School Class of 1975.  He relocated to California in 1985 with his wife and two daughters where he became a member of the Southern California Pipe Trade Local 114 retiring after 26 years of dedication to the trade.

Donnie was the life of the party.  420 was one of his favorite holidays!  He lived life to the fullest and had a deep love for all "his girls", his grandchildren and great grandsons.  He loved Horse racing and treasured being an invested owner of three racehorses, including 2020's Kentucky Derby Winner, Authentic.  Donnie enjoyed watching sports, old westerns, music, singing and was a lover of food.  He spoke often about how proud he was of his daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandsons as well as his Harley, truck and his beautiful singing voice.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 43 years Jerri Thiel, daughters Dawn Coleman (Larry), and Amber Schroeder-Matthews (Bill), grandchildren Alexander (Kassie), Madysyn, Taylor, Ryan and Dylan, great-grandsons Noah, Greyson, Oliver Cash and Theodore Asher "Thrasher", sisters Peggy Thiel-Feller (Darwin), Rebecca Moorehead-Thurmond and Amy Moorehead, niece Jennifer Day (Tony), nephews Mike Feller (Tricia), Eric Thiel (Kelly) and many great nieces and nephews.

Donnie was preceded in death by his Father Harry Jack Thiel, Mother Frances Delores Thiel of Evansville Indiana, and his sister Jacalyn Shoaf of Lompoc California.
