Dora Eliza Fritts, 99, of Lompoc, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2012 at the Lompoc Comprehensive Care Center.
She was born in Equality, Illinois on September 30, 1912, the daughter of Albert and Frances Davenport. Dora graduated from Equality High School in 1933 and married Finnie Fritts on October 1, 1938.
Dora enjoyed square dancing as she and her husband, Finnie, were active members of the Lompoc Rocking Squares Club for more than 25 years. She also enjoyed crocheting and needlepoint of which she shared with family/friends and donated many of her crafts to the Lompoc Hospital as she was a member of the Woman's Auxillary.
Dora is survived by her nephew Dean (Michelle) Davenport of Lompoc; Regina (James) Arensman of Raleigh, North Carolina and loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Frances Davenport; husband, Finnie Fritts; sisters, Jennie "Jane" Swartz, Ida Davenport, Mabel Davenport ; brothers, Raford Davenport, WIlliam "Bill" Davenport, Albert "Riggs" Davenport, and Francis "Frank" Davenport.
A special thank you to all of Aunt Dora's friends who loved and supported her, and to all the wonderful staff at the Comprehensive Care Center.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary with Pastor Joe Byrd of Bethany Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation hours will be one hour prior to service times at the mortuary.
