Dorothy Lucille LaBrado of Lompoc died Sunday, September 28, 2014.
Dorothy was born April 28, 1918 in Tacoma, Washington to Lee and Eva Weaver. The family relocated to Marana, Arizona and later settled in Santa Barbara, California.
Dorothy loved Santa Barbara. There she met Joseph Telmo LaBrado and they were married in 1933. They had six children and raised one grandchild.
Her children are Theresa Alvarado, deceased; Shirley Pexioto of Brookings, Oregon; Myrna Reynolds of Bakersfield, California; Roberta Tidwell, Lompoc; Robert LaBrado, deceased; Richard LaBrado of Bakersfield; Ronald LaBrado, deceased.
Dorothy moved from Santa Barbara to Fremont, California. There she worked at a masonic lodge for the aged. She also worked for Hillview Lodge in Fremont. She was always a caregiver.
She was preceded in death by her siblings Leona Meeks, Bertha Machintire, Zora Mathews, Alta Guiterez, Robert Weaver, and Eva Bianchin.
Dorothy was happy to spend time playing bingo at the casino and slots. She also enjoyed having lunch at the Senior Center every day. She had a good life.
She leaves her very devoted nieces and nephew, Patty and Lani Pascua, Richard and Janine Morgan and Michele Bond who came to see Dorothy from England.
We are so very grateful for the care her granddaughter Cynthia Andrade has provided her. She was her caregiver for the past eight years. Dorothy leaves 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. At her request, there will not be a service. Remember her the way she was.
Rest in Peace, Mother.
