Surrounded by loving family, Dorothy Marie Sams passed away peacefully in her home on April 5, 2019.

Dorothy, or Dot as she liked to be called, was born July 16th, 1941, in Chicago Illinois. After relocating several times her family settled in Denver Colorado. It was there, while attending high school, she met the Love of her Life John Edward Sams. They were married in June of 1959. In their 59½-years together they raised three daughters (Julie Gall of Canon City, Colorado, Jenny Davis and Jody Larson of Lompoc, California) and their surrogate daughter, niece (Toni Salgado of Paso Robles, California).  She also has nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Dot created a legacy of love and laughter.  Dedicated to raising her family, she was an amazing artist, excellent cook, and fiercely loving Wife, Mother, Aunt, and Nana.

She will be forever missed by all who knew and loved her, including her beloved dog Pepper.  Now she is happily reunited with the Love her Life.
