1927 - 2015
Dorothy A. Twine, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on Sunday, March 1, 2015, in Lompoc, CA. She was 87. Dorothy was born in Warwick, VA, on August 15, 1927, to Thomas and Elsie Booth. She married her husband, James Twine, Jr., at Langley Air Force Base, VA, on November 23, 1947.
Dorothy was a dedicated homemaker, traveling the world as a military spouse and raising her seven children. She enjoyed baking, cake decorating, crafting, gardening and league bowling.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years. She is survived by her sons, James, David, Clifton, and Russell; her daughters, Betty, Patty, and Peggy, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family and friends will greatly miss her generous hospitality.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 9, 2015, at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. A reception will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the Heritage Villas large clubhouse, 300 Burton-Mesa Blvd., Vandenberg Village (Lompoc, CA).
