Dottie Rose Beavers, 96 of Lompoc had her last sunset at Fountain Square, Lompoc on December 2, 2023, with her daughter Karan, and children by her side.  Born on June 7, 1927, in Yarnaby, Oklahoma, she was the seventh of nine children of Bradford Eli Swindle and Lular Stavely Swindle.  Dottie was preceded in death by her siblings Lloyd, Floyd, Leroy, Drusilla, Hazel, Juanita, AJ, and Gene.

Dottie had a love for dancing. It was on the dance floor of a small club in Brawley, California, where she met the love of her life, Howard (Jack) Beavers.  Together, they shared 48 years of dancing and cherished memories.  When Jack fell ill, Dottie took up Line Dancing to keep her spirits up while she encouraged Jack to get better.  Their first waltz at the Elks Lodge was a truly magical moment.

Dottie inherited a strong work ethic from her parents, and throughout her life, she gave her all to every endeavor.  From picking cotton to being an Army wife to working in sales at JC Penny and Moore's Department store, she approached each job with dedication and determination.  After retiring, Dottie and Jack spent many joyful years working at the Elks and traveling together.

Dottie is survived by her children, Judy Suter (Ed), Donnie Beavers (Tammy), and Karan Beavers Plo.  She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Laurie Hanna, Steven Suter, Donna Fotheringham, Nicole Suter, Scott Beavers, John Plo, Matthew Beavers, and Amanda McCarley.  She was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her namesake, Dottie, Yvonne Price, and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening, December 12, 2023, from 5-7 pm at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. As per Dottie's request, the burial will be private.  Arrangements made by Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
