Reverend Eddie Dacus Adair passed away peacefully in Lompoc, California on Monday evening, December 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family, close friends, and members of his church.
He was a compassionate loving husband as well as father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Those left celebrating his life are wife, Reverend Shirley Blanche Adair, daughters Yvonne, April, Edwina, Angela, Robin, Valerie, and son Eddie II and his 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
During his 20 years of honorable service as a Flight Engineer serving in the United States Air Force, he served in various duty stations worldwide such as, England, Philippines, Japan, Utah, Kansas City, Washington DC, and Vandenberg Air Force Base, while serving two tours in Vietnam.
After his military retirement, he worked briefly for Culligan water softening. He then left for a second career working with Johns-Mansville retiring after 17 years. During this time he received his spiritual calling and was ordained by The General Council of the Assemblies Of God which led him to play the important roles Co-Pastoring in Churches in Vandenberg Village and Lompoc California.
After receiving a call from Lockheed Martin, he came out of retirement and worked an additional 11 years while continuing to work at various assignments in California, Oklahoma, Texas, Ecuador, Panama and Honduras playing crucial roles in ministry serving at every site he was assigned.
A celebration of Reverend Adair's life will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 2 pm at Crossroads Community Church, 412 North B Street in Lompoc. Interment with military honors will be conducted at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery, 600 South C Street.
