Obituary

Edward James Parker, Jr. of Lompoc entered into rest on May 12, 2013 at Lompoc Valley Medical Center at the age of 57.

Eddie was born on July 4 1955 at Tyndale Air Force Base in Florida. He moved to Lompoc with his parents in 1963. Eddie graduated from Lompoc High School in 1973 where he was All CIF Tennis Champion for three consecutive years. When Eddie was in the Air Force for 91/2 years prior to his Army service, he was a five time Tennis Champion while traveling with the Air Force through Germany.

Eddie married Deanna L. Miller on October 22, 1995 in Las Vegas, Nevada after being together for 14 years. Eddie was a devoted husband, son, brother and friend. Eddie's free time was spent listening to music and spending time with his family and many friends.

He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Deanna Miller-Parker of Lompoc; mother Margie Parker of Lompoc; sisters Tira Pittman of Lompoc, Diana Parker of Sacramento, and Sharon Parker-Gill of Murrieta, Calif.: brothers Stanley Parker and significant other Laura Renfroe Mathews of Lompoc, Jimmie Parker of Missouri; brother in-law Art Gill, Jr.; David C. Miller II, of Chandler, Az. and Rizz Pittman of Lompoc; sister-in-law Shenny Miller of Chandler, Melissa Parker of Missouri and Nancy Miller of Lompoc; nieces Natisha and Malika Livingston both of Sacramento, Makenzie and Jazzie Parker of Missouri; Misty Miller of Chandler; nephews Arthur E. (A.J.) and Aaron E. Gill of Marietta, Jovan Westbury of Lompoc, David Calvin Miller III of Chandler; father-in-law Dean D. Miller and his fiancé Peggy Tedford of Wetumpka, Al. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward James Parker Sr. in 2007 and sister, Ridonia Selina Parker in 1974.


Visitation will be on Sunday, May 26 from 10:00 to 12:00-noon at the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary and a celebration of life will follow at the mortuary. The celebration of life will continue at the Lompoc Veterans Memorial Building located at 100 East Locust Ave. in Lompoc.
