It is with great sadness that the family of Edward Eugene Patrick announces his passing on Monday, March 5 ^th .

Edward was born in 1933 in Reed Springs, Missouri to Jacob and Myrtle Patrick. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Yaeko Patrick. He is also survived by his children Shirley and Douglas, a son in law Brian and daughter in law Colleen.

Edward was a veteran serving as a communications specialist in the US Navy from 1951 to 1957 and stationed at Yokosuka, Japan where he met his wife, Yaeko. In 1957, he re-enlisted in the US Air Force and continued his military service until his retirement in 1977 with a total 26 years of military service to our great country. He spent most of his military service in the Pacific with his last assignment at Vandenberg Air Force Base as a first sergeant for his communications squadron.

After his military retirement, he continued his second career initially at Raytheon in Goleta, California followed by employment at Martin Marietta Company, Lockheed Space Operations Company in Vandenberg AFB  followed by Lockheed Missiles and Space in Florida until his final retirement from the workforce in 1998. During his retirement, he volunteered at the Veterans Center at Vandenberg AFB and at Surf Beach in Lompoc. He liked fishing along beaches in Lompoc and Vandenberg area. He also enjoyed hunting throughout his life and was an avid sportsman.

Edward was a strong brave man full of integrity, honor, and courage. He will be missed by many, but he will always live in the hearts of those who he left behind.

Visitation hours will be 10 am to 12 Noon on Friday, March 16 at the chapel of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.  Burial will follow at the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery with military honors rendered by the Vandenberg AFB Honor Guard.
