Memorial services for Edwin S. "Ed" Davis, 77, of Lompoc, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2006 at Queen of Angels Catholic Church with Msgr. John Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will follow at Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.

Ed was born Dec. 31, 1928 in Chicago, Ill. to Hayward and Mary Bocian Davis. He served in the United States Army for three years before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force in 1951. With over 20 years of military service, he retired in 1972 and began working at Lockheed Corporation as a carpenter for 14 years. His favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, golfing, and especially barbecuing. Ed belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose 1036, American Legion Post 125 and Boots-N-Chutes Airborne Association.

He died Friday, September 22, 2006 at his home.

Survivors (spouses) include his wife of 51 years, Ellen Davis of Lompoc; daughters, Julie Frankhauser (Doug) of Lompoc and Mary Simpson (Donald) of Sequim, Wash.; sons, Raymond (Katherine), Michael (Jennifer), Randy (Patricia) and James (Debbie), all of Lompoc; sister, Mary Tjokwoski of Ill.; brother, Clem Davis of Fla.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Davis and a granddaughter.

Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Marian Foundation Hospice Program, 504 E. Plaza Dr., Santa Maria 93454.
