Obituary

Edwin Rees Key of Lompoc died Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at the age of 72.

Ed was born June 29, 1941 in Anderson, Indiana to Don and Delores (Betty) Key. He graduated from Purdue University and completed his education by earning a master's degree at Ball State University. He was a self-employed consultant specializing in human resources for over 40 years.

A resident of Lompoc since 2002, Ed was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion and the Elk's Lodge in Lompoc, the Mt. Moriah Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons in Anderson, Indiana, the Scottish Rite in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Dixieland Jazz Society. He enjoyed sailing, boating, fishing, traveling, snorkeling, camping, the theatre and family.

Ed is survived by his son David Scott Key of Florida, his sister Nelda Wamsley (Chris) of Yorba Linda, nephew Darrin (Cheryl) Edwards of Bowling Green, Kentucky, nephew Ryan (Suzy) Edwards of Norco and six great nieces and nephews.

Cremation will be followed by inurnment in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 2 pm at the First United Methodist Church, 925 North F Street in Lompoc. In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 1432 Chapala Street, Santa Barbara, CA 93101.
