1928 – 2009
Eileen E. Murphy of Lompoc died Friday, May 22, 2009, at the age of 81.
Eileen was born March 18, 1928, to Walter and Myrtle Dowden in Russiaville, Indiana. She graduated from Russiaville High School.
Formerly of Kokomo, Indiana, she came to Lompoc in 1968 to join other family members who had settled here. She was a lifelong homemaker and beloved mother. She enjoyed playing cards, especially Pinochle.
Eileen is survived by her four daughters, Diana Grice of Lompoc, Gayle Rosales of Lompoc, Janice Tomasian of Lompoc, and Susan Moncada of Lompoc, her son Steven Richardson of Roseville, her sister Betty Work of Lompoc, her brother George Dowden of Indiana, 13 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son David Lee Richardson and grandson Paul Richardson.
The visitation will be on Wednesday, May 27, from 4-7 pm, and the funeral on Thursday, May 28, at 10 am in the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary chapel. Interment will be in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery.
