Elaine Martin was born on December 9, 1932, in Buffalo, NY, to Louis and Etta Togg. In 1945, she moved to Los Angeles with her parents and older sister, Rose.

In 1950, Elaine married Donald L. Martin, and together they had three children. In 1967, the family settled in Lompoc, CA.

Elaine was more than a devoted homemaker; she worked in a variety of roles throughout her life, including positions with the Army Air Force Exchange Service, food service at Santa Ynez Hospital, and various roles with the Lompoc Unified School District, where she worked as a noon aide, in food service, as a substitute teacher, and ultimately as a custodian.

Her passion for community and learning was evident in her volunteer work and hobbies. Elaine was an active member of St. Timothy's Antiochian Orthodox Church for 40 years, a docent at the Lompoc Museum, and a founding member of the Village Hills Little League Basketball program. She was also an enthusiastic participant in the Lompoc Library's writers group and book club and enjoyed bowling leagues in Lompoc and on the nearby military base.

A lover of arts and sports, Elaine had a deep appreciation for movies, theater, and music. She was a loyal fan of UCLA Bruins, Buffalo Bills, and above all, her beloved Dodgers.

Elaine's greatest joy was her family. No matter the weather or location, she never missed a dance recital, musical concert, or sporting event involving her three children or eight grandchildren. Even in her later years, she could often be found enjoying a cocktail at a local bar, staying out late to listen to her grandchildren perform live music.

Elaine was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald L. Martin; her daughter, Donelle Martin; and her sister, Rose. She is survived by her two sons, eight grandchildren, one nephew, two nieces, and several grand-nephews and grand-nieces.

Elaine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Services will be held Friday, December 20th at St Timothy's Orthodox Church, 403 North J Street Lompoc, CA

Funeral -10:00am (proceeded by Liturgy at 8:30 am, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 am at Lompoc Cemetery Pavillion)
