Eleanor R. Denison
1920 – 2009
Eleanor Denison of Lompoc died Thursday, March 12, 2009, at the age of 88.
She was born November 11, 1920, in New York City, New York, to Julia and Carl Walek. She moved to the west coast during World War II. In 1947 she married the late Semian Frank Denison.
A resident of Lompoc since 1959, Eleanor first worked for the U.S. Navy at Point Arguello as a budgeting assistant. She was later employed at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
Eleanor had a passion for classical music, reading, animals and gardening.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1962. She is survived by her son Jim Denison and his wife Alicia Maldonado of Coeur D Alene, Idaho.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2009, at 1 pm in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment. Memorial donations may be made to V.I.V.A. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 896, Lompoc, CA 93436.
